My daughter, Darlene Brown, died the 6th of September, I was not notified at the time. On the 8th of September, my 14 year old daughter, Anna-Mae Sanford, was notified by Lee, the person Darlene was staying with for a short time. According to the report from the hospital, the Hartford police dept. was to continue trying to contact the family.
When the police report was finally released to me, on 01/20/2017, I noticed the report and the hospital records were contradictory, within themselves and each other.
I retrieved Darlene's belongings, from the Hartford pd on 01/21/2017, which consisted of her purse and a small box. I cleaned her purse and found her identification card, which had her name and address, along with the name of her aunt Christine Culbert including phone number, as person to notify in case of emergency. There were also other papers and cards with other identifying information that would help in notifying family.
The detective investigating Darlene's death, found that Lee, the man Darlene was staying with, had picked up some heroin for her. Lee gave the detective information identifying the people the heroin was bought from. Darlene's case was then closed. To the best of my knowledge there have been no arrests made in connection to Darlene's death. It has been listed as accidental. The tests done show that there was no heroin found in her system, but the drug fentanyl was found. Lee also called his atty. before calling 911.
