I hired Carrie to handle my divorce. She said she would bill me 3500 to handle the entire divorce. I paid up front. Throughout the proceedings, she was continuously waiting until the last minute to file paperwork, or not doing things that she said she would work on. These are things I was counting on to get done in a timely fashion. She never responded to e mails, and she wouldn't respond to phone calls to her office. The only way to get a response, was to text her personal cell phone. It got so bad, that I had no choice but to fire her. Since she didn't complete her job, I asked for some of my money back. She took offense to this, and sent me a new bill that charged me for about 15 hours worth of text messages (49 messages total). At 175 dollars an hour, this was obviously unexpected. My advice to anyone looking to hire her would be to look for an attorney that isn't such a sleazeball. This kind of behavior is unacceptable of someone who the court system calls "honorable".
