I live next to the City ditch in Englewood. Recently they covered the ditch and the neighbors keep trying to gain the covered ground as there property.I have a deed to my property that dates back to1870. It states Deed April 28 1875 For right of way for ditch through SW1/4 NW1/4 and W1/2 SW1/2 Sec 2 Twp 5 S R 68 West and through which said ditch mat run not over 25 feet wide on the bottom with necessary additional ground for slopes and embankment and necessary space for men and teams to pass along. If abandoned this void. $1.00 Ack April 28 1875. The people who owned 4140 S Huron St. somehow bought a thin line of property along the length of Huron St. I know the ditch belongs to the city but I am wondering how the property could be purchased along the side of the 4100 block of South Huron Street,Englewood. Please let me know if you can help me with this? I new Jeff Fossum many years ago and I would like to see if you could help me?
