On Friday afternoon, December 13, 2013, at 2:30pm, my boss [Keith Burns] from Standard Parking at the Cherry Capital airport in Traverse City called to let me know that I had been terminated from my cashier/ customer service position that I had held for the past two years.

I was actually scheduled to arrive at work within an hour or so in order to begin my shift at 3:45pm.

There was no explanation, no emotion, no rhyme or reason -- he just said to bring back my uniform at my earliest convenience. I asked him several times why this was happening, and the only answer I got in return was a name and phone number of a person in the HR department in the Chicago office that he suggested I call.

He cited no particular or specific "incident" that would lead to any kind of termination process. I haven't signed any paperwork, have received no explanations, and have no idea what has happened.

I called the Chicago HR office that afternoon, 13th, and left a voice mail, asking for that person to return my phone call; I called her again on Monday morning, 16th, and left another voice mail message. As of today, December 28, 2013, I haven't heard from anyone.

Interestingly enough, about 4 weeks ago, a 20-year-old female was hired to do the same exact work that I have been doing for the past 2 years. She had been fully trained and was ready to be left on her own when I was terminated. I am 60 years old.

In addition, during the course of the 2 years & 2 months I was employed at Standard Parking, Keith constantly made rude and crude comments to me and the other employees concerning his ex-wife, as well as his immediate supervisor -- Kristen Statler -- which created a hostile work environment for all of us.

I would like to pursue a wrongful termination, hostile work environment, and/ or an age discrimination case against Standard Parking.
