Hello,
Do you handle divorces between US immigrants (Filipino female) and Filipino nationals? Do you know what the process would be? If not, can you recommend who does handle this kind of divorce?
Background:
I met a Filipino lady in Dubai, UAE about 2 years ago (Sept 2011.) We have decided to get married. I am a US citizen and she is a Filipino citizen. She married a man in the Philippines back in 1992. They have 3 children together ages, 13, 18 and 19.
They have been separated for approximately 10 years. I understand that to apply for a divorce/annulment in the Philippines one must be separated for a minimum of 7 years. Olive Dimarucut, my fiancée began divorce proceedings from Dubai back in June of this year. Papers were served on her husband through a Filipino divorce lawyer. Mr. Edwin Dimarucut has since refused to sign the papers. We have tried every avenue available and he will not sign the papers.
I understand that divorce papers may be served/ processed from the US to the Philippines from Ms. Dimarucut to Mr. Dimarucut. We would appreciate your help in any way, thank you.
