Good evening. My name is Keith Meador. My home is in foreclosure. Green Tree, my mortgage company hasn’t been willing to work with me for months. My problems started when Green Tree Mortgage Company acquired my account from GMAC Mortgage in February2013. I paid my mortgage to Green Tree that February, as I did with GMAC, when Green Tree informed me that I was in the rear and owed previous late fees from my mortgage with GMAC. At the time Green Tree acquired my account from GMAC, I was current with my mortgage. Green Tree would not accept my payment if I didn't include fees that they claimed I owed GMAC. After a few conversations with Green Tree I was offered a program with an agreement, stating that if I called my payments in, on time for four months, I would be eligible for a 4% modification. My monthly payment was $1024.24. I made these payments on time, by phone. I have my bank statements showing that these payments were made. I received a letter inDec 2013 stating that I was approved for a permanent modification because I had made my payments on time for the past 6 months. I filled out the forms that they sent me and mailed them back. During this time I was caring for a terminal ill brother who lived in California, which required me to travel to the West coast several times. I wanted to make sure he was being taken care of properly and to see that he lived his last days comfortably. He passed January 1st 2014. On my return from making arrangements and settling his affairs in California, mid January, I received a letter stating that my loan modification had not been grated. Green Tree would not accept February’s payment. I was sent a mortgage bill for payments for the previous six months as if I hadn’t made payments at all. They didn’t include any of the payments I had made by phone. Green Tree wouldn’t work with me. They were rude, threatening and intimidating. Now I’m being foreclosed on. The lost of my brother and being threatened with foreclosure was just too much to bear. I went into a depressed state for months. I sought counseling and was allowed to take leave from my job. I’m back at work now everyday, better and I’m ready to fight for my home. I need your help and expertise to help mediate a payment arrangement with Green Tree so that I can stop the sale of my home.
