Hello my name is tammy davis and i need some legal advice. I take care of my mother who is elderly and disable. I went to a attorney with her to help her drawl up a will that would be equally dividing all of her assets among myself and my two sisters. I thought i was supost to help see that the will was taken care of (that all of her wishes would be carried out after she passed away). I also thought i would have some control over any changes in the will if they were to arise. My mother has been taken advantage of by her grandson he knew that she was elderly, disabled, schizophrenia, and easily manipulated. August 2012 my mother was having very high blood pressure and had to try a number of new medications which was messing strongly with her mental condition. During that time my mother signed over 11 acres of her land to her grandson. She does not know why she did what she did. She is scared and devastated now when she looks back at what she has done. We the family just found out about this. Since she has came back to herself she has been very sick about turning over the deed to her property. She has been afraid to tell us what had happened to her she knows she was unstable at that time. Is there any way to get the land back or to make sure that she gets paid the full amount of what the land is worth? This has made me realize that she is not capable of making important decisions. By doing this she has put her own financial future in jeopardy. My sister is the payee for her disability that she receives each month and i am responsible for how her money is spent. Is there anything that can be done legally to reverse or overturn this transaction and get back the land?
