I'm not sure where I stand, or if I have any laws on my side for a lawyer that I currently have retained. After using a certain attorney for a dissolution, he agreed to help me with a bankruptcy case-- and under his guidance i stopped paying my debt that we had agreed i would file bankruptcy on! I retained him for this particular case in Sept/October 2014- and signed my papers for my bankruptcy in December 2014). Somehow, my case never got filed, and no one in his office could find my paperwork. So I resubmitted updated info, re-took my debt counseling course (since my old certificate expired), and I still hear nothing back from him! I call at least once a week and leave a message. Since June, i have only spoken to him once. He has been paid in full since December, and even cashed the court cost check i sent him in January. I continue to get harassing letters at my job and at home. Can I do anything about his negligence?
