My grandfather is Martin Schumacher who lives out on Route 800. He has had the same phone number since I was born (I'm 46) and has no cell phone in his name. He does have cable TV but it is provided and billed separately. He has recently begun receiving bills from AT&T for hundreds of dollars. My aunt has tried contacting AT&T by phone a couple of times. They will claim to fix the problem yet nothing has been fixed. They threatened to turn the account over to collections and, after a little more hassle, my aunt finally closed the account. However, this is a danger as now my Grandpa doesn't have a way to contact anyone should he need to and he is a 96-year-old man We are also nervous about him not having a phone as we can't call and check on him now. We (the family) are looking for an outcome that allows Grandpa to have his basic phone back and not be overcharged. What do you think about our chances? By the way, I live in Columbus but am willing to come to Barnesville if needed.
