Looking back...I would never have hired Craig Brown to represent my son in a criminal case. Craig is a nice person, but under the circumstances in handling my son's case, he didn't offer what I felt was great advice. He, being the professional, should have told us to proceed with a jury trial. We told him we wanted a Judicial trial. Big mistake. My son had a better chance with a jury trial, in which one or more of the jurors might have felt sorry for him. As it happened, Craig dragged us thru a five year ordeal which cost us a lot of money, stress and almost my life. As a professional, he did not fight hard enough for my son. The evidence the D.A.'s office brought before was tamper with (The rope that they maintained my son was going to tie up the victim, was cut into six inch pieces). Just try tying a person hands together with a 1/2 inch rope six inches long. My son did not cut that rope!!!! Craig did not object to the DA's assessment that my son cut that rope into six inch pieces. Yes, my son was guilty of the crime, but the sentence by the judge was much too harsh for a young man who had no, and I mean no prior crime record. Sorry, but the truth is the truth.
